Putting a Western Saddle on a horse for the First time.

I always try to desensitizing all horse to the sounds of a saddle using the Approach & Retreat method. I take the western saddle and get the horse used to the leather noise as the I put the saddle on the horse. You want the horse to stand still as you move the saddle close to the horse for the first time. Let the horse smell the saddle. Make noise by moving the leather back and forth. The noise of the western saddle will at first startle the horse then as the noise becomes less they start to perk their curiosity. Next, Get the horse used to the saddle going on and coming off. Tighten the cinch so that the horse can get used to the pressure in the girth area....
